Malkia Strikers are in Group A that has European champions Italy, hosts Netherlands, African champions Cameroon, Belgium and Puerto Rico for the global showpiece

National women's volleyball team, Malkia Strikers' skipper Mercy Moim says the team is well prepared for the task ahead as they head to the FIVB Women’s World Championships in Netherlands.

The lethal left attacker admits this is the best she has ever seen the national team prepare for any competition in the 15 years she has been representing the country adding that this will translate to the best performance the team has ever given when they line up for the championship.

"Unlike previously, we had everything we could ask for in OSASCO, Brazil. We do not have any excuses now. It is time to implement everything we have learned.

This is the best preparation I have had in my 15 years of playing in the national team, all thanks to Mozzart Bet who came to our rescue when our trip to Brazil looked impossible," offered Moim.

She added, "We are not going to this championship to be defeated early. We plan to win a few matches and proceed to the next round."

The captain adds that everyone who made the final team did so on merit, opining that the blend of young and experienced players gives the side an edge as they head to battle.

As they embark on a five-day camp in Belgrade, Serbia in what is their final stop before Netherlands, Moim says they will be ready to cause some upsets.

"In Brazil we did not get a chance to play any friendlies in the last two weeks as their league is now on. This camp in Serbia gives us the opportunity to adapt to the European weather and timeline.

I am grateful to Mozzart Bet for making this happen as this is what we needed. They have walked this journey with us and made it beautiful. Also grateful for FIVB for the chance to be in Brazil and prepare for the championship," added Moim.

She has called on the government to step in and support the team as it heads to Netherlands. "We have gone for this long thanks to our sponsors who have made sure we do not lack anything. We are, however, yet to receive our allowances but we have to have it done before Netherlands," said Moim.
